This PTCB Exam review guide is a valuable tool for individuals who are preparing to take the pharmacy technician certification exam. It is not intended to address all aspects of the pharmacy profession. Rather, its purpose is to teach quick study tips and the basic facts needed to pass the PTCB certification exam.

About Chris Ardoin and Brian Tuschl

Brian Tuschl, Pharm. D., is the president of Tech Prep Solutions. He is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences and Administration in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Houston and was presented with the Roche Preceptor of the Year Award in 2006. Dr. Tuschl currently serves as a member of the advisory boards of two local technical schools with pharmacy technician programs and also practices retail pharmacy in Houston, Texas.

This table is an extremely important part of the PTCB Exam review book. In my teaching experience, students often get overwhelmed with the number of drugs in the pharmacy. At first glance, it seems impossible to learn all of the brand and generic drug names. This process can be made much easier by learning the prefixes and suffixes of common drugs dispensed.
